The Blackstone Library invites artists to complete an application to exhibit their work in our Artist’s Circle Gallery. At least 3-4 examples of the artist’s work must be submitted with the application. The library is especially interested in working with artists who will consider combining an exhibit with an opportunity for a demonstration or discussion.
Exhibits will be located in the recently re-opened upper rotunda gallery space. When the Library was constructed and opened in 1896, it contained an art gallery with works by notable artists of the time. The Library has renewed its commitment to the arts and will provide an outlet for local artists to exhibit their work. In doing so, the Library hopes to expose the community to new art forms and ideas, foster creativity and inspire curiosity.
Work will be chosen according to the needs and interests of the community, the artistic quality of the works, and the suitability of the format for the Library’s physical space.
