A local author sheds light on her childhood experience growing up in a religious cult in the 1950s and 60s. Patricia Walsh Chadwick shares her memoir of a childhood with no access to the outside world or its influences. No contact with anyone, including family, that lived outside the community of 100 people, including 39 children. She also discusses how it felt to be evicted from the community at the age of 17 and face a world she had been taught to believe was full of sin and danger. A tale of resilience and grace, Little Sister chronicles, in riveting prose, a surreal childhood and does so without rancor or self-pity.
