Blackstone Library Teen Internship Program

The James Blackstone Memorial Library is seeking a summer intern to work within our Youth Services department. The department serves children from birth to age 18 and their families, offering books, resources, and a variety of events each week. The intern will work under the guidance of the Associate Librarian for Youth Services, the Children’s Librarian, and the Youth Services Assistant to support the library’s summer learning activities and develop a project for the library based on their interests and abilities. This internship is designed to give teens valuable work experience, with the potential to learn about event planning, marketing, and collection development.

Hours and Compensation

The intern will work 10-15 hours per week, depending on scheduling and project availability, with mutually-agreed-upon start and end dates. This position comes with a stipend of $2000, made possible by the Friends of the Blackstone Library.

Qualifications

Interns must be entering their junior or senior year of high school, or their first year of college. We welcome diversity and strongly encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.

How to Apply

Please return the following application to the Youth Services desk of the library, or email it to Emily Yates at eyates@blackstonelibrary.org by 5/4/25.
